Glendale, AZ Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

City Code § 24-68(g)(1) permits parking or storing recreational vehicles, including campers, travel trailers, motor homes, boats and personal watercraft, on any residential lot if the equipment is owned or leased by the property's owner or occupant and kept in a garage or on a dustproof surface within a side or rear yard behind a solid six-foot wall, fence, gate or landscaping screen; lots in Rural Residential (RR) zoning districts are exempt from that screening requirement. At least one side yard must keep a three-foot clearance for emergency access.

Where a screened side or rear yard isn't feasible, up to two recreational vehicles may sit in the front yard on an approved dustproof surface, but not on a semi-circular drive, and the combined total of recreational vehicles and utility trailers on any lot is capped at two under (g)(1)(e) and the parallel utility-trailer provision (f)(1)(f). Temporary front-yard, side-yard, driveway or maneuvering-area parking for loading, unloading or repairs is capped at 72 hours within any 7 consecutive days under (g)(2). Subsection (g)(3) bars using an RV for permanent human occupancy unless the occupant obtains a temporary occupancy permit from the development services department, and (g)(4) bans using an RV to store goods or materials unrelated to its use as a recreational vehicle.
