SDMC 86.0139 prohibits oversized vehicles, non-motorized vehicles, and recreational vehicles from parking on any public street between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM. These vehicles may not park within 50 feet of an intersection at any time. Oversized vehicles are defined as exceeding specified dimensions. Residents may obtain a Temporary Overnight Recreational Vehicle Permit (TORVP) from the City to park an RV on their block overnight. TORVP costs $1.50 per 24-hour period, with a maximum of 72 permits per address per year. Permits may be issued for no more than three consecutive 24-hour periods. On private property, RVs and boats may be stored in rear yards or side yards behind the front setback line subject to zoning restrictions. Inoperable vehicles must be screened from public view.
Parking citation with fine. Vehicles in violation may be towed. Repeat offenders face escalating fines.
