EMC Article 25 (Parking of Recreational Vehicles in Residential Zones) governs RV and boat parking. Street parking of RVs is prohibited except for 48 hours before and 48 hours after a trip to facilitate loading/unloading, provided the vehicle is within 100 yards of its registered DMV address. Boats are classified as recreational vehicles. On residential property, RVs must be stored in rear or side yards. Front yard parking may be permitted only when suitable rear/side access does not exist. RVs must be parked perpendicular to the street (with exceptions for perpendicular garage doors or circular driveways). All RV parking must be on prepared surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, or paver blocks; parking in landscaped areas is prohibited. No more than 50% of the required front setback area including driveway may be used for vehicle parking. Permitted in R-A, R-E, R-1 zones and on single-family properties in R-2, R-3, and R-4 zones.
