Street parking in Atlanta follows posted signs and RPP zones. No parking within 15 ft of a hydrant, 30 ft of a stop sign, or against traffic flow, per Ch. 150, Art. VI.
Atlanta Code Ch. 150, Art. VI covers on-street parking. Unless posted otherwise, passenger vehicles may park along a curb on a residential street. Many neighborhoods near Georgia Tech, Virginia-Highland, Inman Park, and Piedmont Park are covered by Residential Parking Permit (RPP) zones, where non-permit vehicles face time limits. Parking is prohibited within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 30 feet of a traffic control sign or signal, 20 feet of a crosswalk, and 5 feet of a driveway. Vehicles must be parked in the direction of traffic flow; double parking is banned. Meter violations, RPP violations, and no-stopping-zone violations are all handled by Atlanta's parking enforcement vendor.
Tickets range from approximately $25 for meter violations to $75+ for hydrant or no-stopping violations. Chronic unpaid tickets can lead to booting and towing.
