Sec. 20-16, 'Paved rights-of-way, crosswalks, driveways, bridges, signals, etc.,' sits in Article II, Division 1 of Chapter 20, Traffic, and has been amended repeatedly since its 1974 origin (Ord. No. 378), most recently by Ord. No. 22O-11-142 in December 2022. Subsection (a) bars parking on the paved portion of the right-of-way of any street, avenue or roadway in the city, whether that roadway is public or private, a blanket prohibition not limited to posted no-parking zones. Subsection (c) separately makes it unlawful to park, stand, stop or otherwise obstruct the area in front of any driveway, public or private, but the section builds in a nightly residential exception: between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., that same driveway-blocking parking is permitted within residential districts.

The same section also bars parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection (subsection (b)), on any bridge (subsection (d)), within 30 feet of a flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic signal (subsection (e)), and anywhere officially posted 'no parking' (subsection (f)). Enforcement runs through the Broward County Clerk of Court's hearing-officer program, authorized at Sec. 20-13, and through Lauderhill's own parking enforcement specialists and police officers defined at Sec. 20-15.3. A driver who parks on the paved right-of-way outside those exceptions, or blocks a driveway during daytime hours, is subject to citation the same as any other Article II parking violation.
