Moore, OK Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Sec 9-608 of the Moore Code of Ordinances regulates advertising for a licensed residential sale under Chapter 9-6, Article 9-6A. It caps total signage at five signs, and those must be signs as provided by the city upon issuance of the residential sale permit, meaning a seller cannot simply print homemade signs; the city supplies the sign stock when it issues the license. Of the five, one sign must stay on the immediate premises where the sale takes place, while the remaining four may be posted off the sale property to direct traffic.

Placement of every sign, whether on-site or off-site, must follow the instructions issued by the city's building department, giving that department control over exactly where and how the signs may be erected. Once the residential sale license expires, meaning after the licensed sale period of up to three consecutive days under Sec 9-604, every advertising sign must come down within 48 hours. The 48-hour removal clock runs from license expiration regardless of whether the seller personally placed the off-site signs or had someone else post them, since the duty to remove falls on the license holder.
