Temporary window signs sit inside the 'Other Temporary Signs' catch-all in Section 11-1203.6(2), the same category that covers real estate and garage-sale signs, but subsection (g) carves out a rule specific to window displays: they are permitted only in a commercial district, and even there they cannot cover more than 40 percent of the window area on any single building frontage. That 40 percent ceiling is measured per frontage, so a business with windows on two street-facing walls can post signage up to the limit on each wall independently.

Because the provision is written for commercial districts only, a home occupation or institutional use in a residential district gets no allowance for temporary window signs under this subsection at all; those uses fall back to the general residential temporary-sign cap of eight square feet under Section 11-1203.6(2)(d) if they want any temporary signage, but a paper sign taped inside a residential window covering more than eight square feet of glass is not exempted by the commercial window rule. Like other temporary signs, window signs under this section need no permit or fee under subsection (a), but the placement is still policed as part of the sign ordinance: the Director can order removal of noncompliant signage, and a business that papers over more than 40 percent of its storefront glass risks a citation the same as an oversized banner or portable sign would.
