Section 126.13 of the Weston Code of Ordinances regulates Window Signs, defined as signs that identify the business or activity on the premises, wherever they are displayed against glass visible from outside a building. The Code splits the allowance by use: under 126.13(A), office and industrial uses may not exceed an aggregate window-sign area equal to 5% of the window glass area on which the signs are located, and that signage must be uniform within a multi-tenant center so tenants in the same building cannot each choose different window coverage.

Under 126.13(B), retail uses get a more generous allowance, an aggregate area equal to 20% of the window glass on which the signs are located. The caps are measured against the glass area of the specific window the sign occupies, not the building's total glass or footprint, so a business calculates its allowance window by window. Window signs sit within Chapter 126's broader sign-permitting scheme, and Chapter 126 elsewhere prohibits signs that obstruct any window, door, fire escape, or opening intended to provide light, air, ingress, or egress under 126.10(A)(4), so a compliant window sign must still leave sightlines and required egress openings clear.

Violations of the window-sign area limits are enforced the same way as other Chapter 126 sign violations: through Code Enforcement under Chapter 31 of the Code, with only civil penalties applying under 126.23(B).
