Trash bins must be placed at the curb by 7 AM on collection day with 3 feet clearance from obstacles. Bins must be stored out of public view between pickups.
Bellevue City Code Chapter 8.04 and Republic Services operating rules require specific placement of garbage, recycling, and yard waste carts. Carts must be placed at the curb with wheels facing the house, lid closed, by 7 AM on the scheduled collection day. Maintain 3 feet of clear space on all sides of each cart so the automated truck arm can grab it without hitting mailboxes, parked cars, or low branches. Do not place carts under overhead power lines or within 5 feet of fire hydrants. Bins must be removed from the curb by midnight on collection day. Between pickups, carts must be stored out of public view from the street (in a garage, behind a fence, or along the side of the house) under BCC 20.25E (Property Maintenance). Multi-family properties and commercial sites use shared enclosures with screening requirements. Violation of storage rules is a civil infraction carrying fines up to 100 dollars per incident. Missing carts or wheels should be reported to Republic Services at 425-452-6932 for replacement.
