Grand Prairie's Solid Waste department provides bulky waste pickup for items that cannot be collected with regular residential equipment. Bulky waste includes large items such as furniture, appliances, and mattresses that must be containerized in a manner acceptable to the city. Brush must be cut to lengths not exceeding 6 feet and stacked at curbside to a height of no more than 3 feet, with larger ends placed toward the curb or alley. A maximum of 1 cubic yard of brush will be collected per pickup day. Items should be placed at the curb for collection. Hazardous waste, tires, and construction debris are not accepted through regular bulky waste pickup. The city may charge fees for excessive bulky waste.
