Section 174-7B(1) requires that brush be cut to no more than four feet in length, piled neatly clear of the paved roadway and sidewalk, with branches under two inches in diameter bundled in rope or twine, not wire, weighing no more than 50 pounds and no more than 16 inches across. Section 174-7C(1) requires that appliances and bulky refuse be dismantled so they pose no safety threat, giving refrigerator doors removed from their hinges as the code's own example. Section 174-7C(2) caps bulky refuse and, where practicable, construction and demolition waste at bundles or bags of no more than 50 pounds, placed at the curb within a five-foot-by-five-foot-by-three-foot area or equivalent volume.

Section 174-8B(1) puts the seven-day clock on anything over that volume: the resident becomes responsible for arranging alternative collection within seven days of generating the excess, and Section 174-8B(1)(b) lets the hauler add a charge for material that is not properly bundled or that exceeds the volume or weight limits, as long as the hauler discloses the prep requirements and the extra charge before collecting. Shrubs, sod, dirt, stumps, and logs may be collected by the Town itself year-round under Section 174-7B(4), though if a resident hires a private lawn or tree service, that contractor bears responsibility for hauling away the debris.
