Piscataway, NJ Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Section 22-1.2.b authorizes each household to schedule curb-side pickup of solid waste from municipal resources twice per year, by appointment, from January through mid-October on a first-come, first-served basis; this benefit covers solid waste disposal only and excludes recyclable materials, which residents may drop off at the Trash/Recycling Center under Section 22-1.2.c without using a coupon. Section 22-1.1 issues each household a recycling decal and coupon booklet, and Section 22-1.2.a requires surrendering one coupon per car, SUV or minivan trip, or two coupons for a pickup truck or full-size van, to use the Trash/Recycling Center located next to the Department of Public Works.

Section 22-1.5 caps the gross load in vans, pickup trucks and trailers delivered to the Center at two cubic yards. Outside of these scheduled services, Section 3-1.6 forbids storing bulky household waste, specifically naming appliances, furniture and mattresses, in residentially zoned areas unless the items sit inside a fully enclosed structure or the storage happens only on days the Township has designated for collection of those items. Section 3-1.5 separately bars dumping household or commercial solid waste, junk, tires, or furniture along any street or right-of-way without the property owner's written consent.
