Sec. 107-5.5(c)(1) sets the baseline collection frequency for Bensalem Township: all household solid waste must be collected at least once each week, with two carve-outs handled by advance arrangement rather than the regular route, bulky waste such as appliances or large furniture, and dead animals. Waste generated by institutional, commercial, industrial and municipal facilities is not held to a fixed weekly frequency; instead, the same subsection requires collection as often as the generated volume and any environmental problems demand. Recyclables run on a slower, separate schedule under Sec.

107-5.5(c)(2): at least once a month, or as the Bensalem Township Recycling Ordinance, Ordinance No. 404 of 1988, otherwise sets. Leaf and yard waste get a seasonal calendar of their own under Sec. 107-5.5(c)(3): haulers must run at least two leaf-waste collections during October and November and at least one yard-waste collection in May, choosing the actual collection days themselves and distributing the schedule to customers and the Township in advance. Haulers must also report tonnage from each run and back it up with weight-slip receipts from a Pennsylvania DEP-approved composting facility.

Outside those collection windows, Sec. 107-5.5(c)(3)e lets residents, businesses and institutions drop leaf and yard waste off directly at Waste Management's facility at 200 Bordentown Road in Tullytown.
