Cheektowaga, NY Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Code § 206-7A commits the Town of Cheektowaga to collecting recyclable rubbish and solid waste placed in Town-approved totes or otherwise at the right-of-way at each location in the Town. Section 206-7B extends collection to cut grass, brush and tree parts from commercial contractors and residents, provided the material was generated on the site where it's placed and prepared under § 206-4G. Section 206-7C bars Town employees or equipment from entering private residential property or structures to make collections unless directed by the Sanitation Department's General or Working Crew Chief.

Section 206-7D relieves the Town of any obligation to remove solid waste not produced within the Town, and § 206-7E vests ownership of curbside rubbish in the Town once placed for collection, making unauthorized scavenging or removal by anyone else unlawful, with each pickup a separate offense. 1 makes a vacating owner or tenant liable for the Town's actual cost of collecting solid waste left at the curb in violation of the article, addable to the property's tax bill if unpaid within 30 days of invoicing.
