Rather than a fixed weekly minimum, subsection A ties the construction pickup schedule to site conditions: refuse must be collected on a periodic basis, as approved by the city, as necessary to prevent the unsightly accumulation of uncontainerized construction refuse on the site. That means the contractor or property owner works out a collection frequency with the city, or its franchisee, that keeps demolition and building debris from accumulating in view, rather than defaulting to the once-a-week schedule that governs household cans.

Subsection B adds a content restriction that applies regardless of pickup frequency: roll-off containers used for construction refuse may never contain putrescible waste, the same category of decomposing organic material that triggers twice-weekly service for food establishments under § 13.08.080(C). Containerization itself is governed by the neighboring § 13.08.060(B), which requires all construction refuse to go in an approved roll-off rather than loose piles or standard cans, and § 13.08.055 makes the underlying collection or self-haul obligation mandatory for anyone who produces construction refuse from building or demolition work. Every roll-off must also sit in a location accessible to loading equipment under § 13.08.090(C).
