The City of Sunrise contracts collection to Republic Services of Florida under an exclusive franchise (Code Sec. 12-1). Single-family homes receive twice-weekly garbage service in 95-gallon (or 65-gallon) city carts, plus once-weekly recycling and once-weekly bulk pickup on the first garbage day. Small yard trimmings and branches go in the garbage cart; larger yard waste is bulk-only. Look up your two collection days on the city's service map or interactive GIS map by address. Under Sec. 12-1, the sole collection holiday is Christmas Day (December 25) — every other holiday, pickup runs as normal. Report a missed pickup to Republic Services at (954) 327-9504.
Setting carts out before 7 p.m. the night before, or leaving them out past 7 p.m. on collection day, violates Sec. 12-3(c) and draws code enforcement action.
