Residential bulk trash — couches, chairs, mattresses, tables, appliances, carpeting, fencing, and large yard waste — is collected weekly on the first day of your garbage week, so items are removed the same day they are set out. Remove doors from refrigerators, washers, dryers, and stoves first; roll and tie carpet, padding, and fencing. The city will not accept construction, remodeling, or demolition debris (including concrete and brick), auto bodies or parts, hazardous materials, or horticultural waste from commercial lawn services. There is no limit on household yard waste. Residents may also drop off bulk and yard waste at Wheelabrator's Davie facility one Saturday monthly with photo ID.
Placing contractor-generated or construction debris at the curb, or setting bulk out before 7 p.m. the night before, violates the city's solid-waste rules and draws code enforcement fines.
