Weston, FL Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Weston Code of Ordinances § 110.02(A) governs garbage from what the Code calls Residential Curbside Service Units. Subsection (A)(1) requires that Household Waste be placed and kept in garbage bags inside a City-provided Solid Waste Cart and set out curbside for collection; the City's Solid Waste contractor, referred to in the Code as the Contractor, collects the carts and delivers the waste to a legally permitted disposal facility. Multi-family residential and commercial properties fall under § 110.02(B) instead: their garbage must be placed and kept in garbage bags inside a roll-off container or dumpster, which must stay clean, sanitary, free of rust and graffiti, must not block building ingress/egress, sidewalks or the right-of-way, and is limited to one container per parcel at a time.

Owners of those properties must arrange service directly with the Contractor and size their container and pickup frequency to prevent chronic overflow that creates unsanitary dumpster-enclosure conditions. Scavenging is separately barred: under § 110.04, all set-out garbage, disaster debris and recyclables remain the property of the unit owner or tenant until the Contractor collects them, and no unauthorized person may remove them once placed for collection.
