Cobb County does not mandate residential recycling. Haulers offer optional single-stream recycling subscriptions. Keep Cobb Beautiful Recycling Center accepts paper, glass, metal, plastics #1β#7 free for residents.
Recycling in unincorporated Cobb County is voluntary. Most private haulers include single-stream curbside recycling in their standard subscription but residents can opt out. Accepted materials (through the Keep Cobb Beautiful drop-off at 1775 County Services Pkwy) include mixed paper, cardboard, glass (bottles/jars), aluminum and steel cans, and plastics #1β#7. Plastic bags, Styrofoam, and food waste are NOT accepted curbside. Glass is increasingly restricted at single-stream MRFs β the Recycling Center drop-off remains the best option for glass. Cobb's MRF partners include Pratt Industries (Conyers). Georgia has no bottle deposit and no statewide recycling mandate. Some Cobb municipalities (Marietta) mandate recycling for multifamily properties.
No mandatory-recycling fines in unincorporated Cobb. Contaminated curbside loads rejected by hauler. Illegal dumping of recyclables: O.C.G.A. Β§16-7-42.
