Sec. 13-94(a) requires everything set out for curbside recycling or composting to be prepared consistent with Article IV plus whatever special requirements the township board publishes by resolution. Sec. 13-94(b) then spells out the recyclables side: metal, glass and plastic containers must be rinsed and cleaned before they go into an approved curbside container, and newspapers and other acceptable paper products must be placed in paper bags or tied into bundles weighing no more than fifty pounds each, mirroring the fifty-pound paper-bundle cap the township also applies to residential storage under Sec.

13-20(a)(3). If a resident sends out material that is not source-separated or not prepared this way, Sec. 13-95 lets the authorized hauler simply refuse to collect it rather than issuing a citation on the spot, which is the article's primary compliance tool for a first-time lapse. Persistent noncompliance can still draw code enforcement attention, and because Article IV assigns no specific civil-infraction fine of its own, an enforced violation defaults to the Sec. 1-10 general penalty: a misdemeanor punishable by up to ninety-three days in jail and/or a $500 fine, with every day of a continuing violation counted as a separate offense.
