Village Code section 20-7-1 defines back door collection service as collection of waste and recycling that is not at the alley or the street curb, one of the three places the code recognizes materials as validly placed for collection: the curb, the alley, or the back door. 33) per month, charged in addition to all other applicable rates the article sets for garbage, refuse, yard waste and recycling collection under subsection E. Back door customers still fall under the same mandatory-service and billing framework as every other qualifying residential property in the Village: bills are due under the schedule in section 26-2-3, and nonpayment beyond thirty days exposes the account to the same remedies as standard curbside service, including a water shutoff after notice and a hearing under section 26-2-4, a lawsuit for the amount owed, or a lien recorded with the Cook County recorder of deeds.

Because private scavengers are barred from collecting residential garbage and recycling in properties of five units or fewer under section 20-7-2(M), back door service has to come from the Village's own collection program or its contracted hauler; a resident cannot separately hire a private company to perform door-side pickup instead.
