Inglewood, CA Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Inglewood Municipal Code § 7-25(2) tells residents exactly how to stage tree and bush trimmings for the weekly contract-agent pickup established under §§ 7-19 and 7-22: bundle them so no bundle exceeds four feet in length, eighteen inches in diameter, or sixty pounds gross weight, or load them loose into an approved refuse container that doesn't exceed one hundred fifty pounds gross weight per container, and don't compact trimmings packed that way. Anything else placed for regular collection, refuse other than trimmings, is limited to one hundred fifty pounds per approved container under § 7-25(3).

2 defines 'green waste' as tree trimmings, wood stumps, grass cuttings, dead plants, leaves, branches, flowers, plant stocks and dead trees not more than six inches in diameter or thirty-six inches in length, a narrower size band aimed at material that goes into the franchisee's green organics container rather than a bundled curbside pickup. Green waste that doesn't fit either program, oversized stumps or branches thicker than six inches, generally requires a special arrangement with the contract agent or a self-haul trip, since neither § 7-25's bundle limits nor the green-container program is built to take it.

Every place that produces trimmings must supply its own receptacles or bundling material except where the contract agent already provides one, per § 7-25(4), and the container itself must have a lid and stay light enough to lift by hand into the collection vehicle.
