030(F)(9) of the North Las Vegas zoning code permits keeping up to four chickens as an accessory use, but only where the principal use of the property is a single-family dwelling. No roosters are allowed, and slaughtering chickens on-site is flatly prohibited. The birds must be provided a covered enclosure and kept inside that covered enclosure or a fenced enclosure at all times, they can't simply roam a fenced yard uncovered. Enclosures must sit at least 25 feet from any residential structure on an adjoining lot, or meet the setback of the applicable zoning district if that's a greater distance.

20-3), 'Keeping of Chickens' is marked 'P', permitted by right, only in the O-L and R-E zoning districts; it isn't listed as permitted, conditional, or special in the higher-density residential or commercial districts, so a lot outside O-L or R-E has no by-right path to keep chickens under this provision. 030 of the Animal Code bans keeping any rooster or male fowl over three months old anywhere in the City, and requires any fowl or bird kept within 60 feet of a neighboring dwelling to have that neighbor's written, unrevoked consent on file with the City, with the coop kept clean, confined, and out of basements or cellars. 020.
