Under Chapter 6 of the Pasadena Code, all animals must be restrained by a fence or leash at all times. Dogs running at large are subject to impoundment by Pasadena Animal Control. All cats and dogs must be vaccinated annually against rabies. Dogs must wear a current city license tag. Registration fees are $10 for spayed/neutered dogs and $50 for unaltered dogs. Proof of rabies vaccination is required for registration. Residents may keep a combined total of 4 cats and/or dogs if all are altered (spayed/neutered). If any pet is unaltered, the limit is 2 dogs and 2 cats. Pasadena operates its own animal shelter and control program.
