Hall County, GA Animal Ordinances: Microchipping (2026)

420(A)(4) states that all domesticated animals other than community cats reclaimed under that section shall be microchipped before leaving impoundment at the Hall County Animal Shelter, with the identification number from the animal's microchip recorded in the department of animal services' records. This microchipping duty sits inside the broader redemption process: an owner reclaiming an impounded animal must also pay any impoundment fee on the animal services fee schedule, any boarding, quarantine boarding or veterinary charges assessed, and, if the animal was not wearing a current rabies tag, the cost of the rabies vaccination, plus proof that any fine already imposed has been paid.
