Beaumont, CA Building Safety: Green Building Code (2026)

Chapter 15.22 is short. Section 15.22.010 adopts the California Green Building Standards Code, Title 24, California Code of Regulations, Part 11, by reference as the City Green Building Code, with the phrase except as modified by this Chapter. The chapter contains only two sections and prints no local modifications, so the state text is the standard applied in the City of Beaumont, California. The adoption also covers any and all amendments the State of California makes and adopts after the ordinance, so the chapter tracks later state changes to Part 11.

The City Council enacted the current chapter through Ordinance No. 1190, Section 15, adopted November 4, 2025, which amended Chapter 15.22 in its entirety. The former chapter, also two sections, derived from Ordinance No. 1153, adopted December 6, 2022. The same ordinance rewrote the neighboring building code chapters: Section 15.04.010 adopts the 2025 California Building Code, and Section 15.04.020 creates the Building & Safety Department, headed by the building official.

Section 15.22.020 classes any violation as an infraction. Section 1.16.030 then sets the infraction fine caps: $100.00 for a first violation, $200.00 for a second violation of the same ordinance within one year, and $500.00 for each additional violation within one year, with the fourth violation chargeable as a misdemeanor. Subsection B of that section sets a separate schedule of $100.00, $500.00, and $1,000.00 for violations of a City building and safety code provision. Under Section 1.16.040 each day a violation continues is a separate offense.
