Montebello, CA Building Safety: Green Building Code (2026)

Section 15.60.010 adopts the 2019 California Green Building Standards Code, Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, as the city's green building regulations, describing it as providing minimum standards for improving public health, safety and general welfare by enhancing building design and construction through concepts with a positive environmental impact. The code text spells out four regulated tracks: energy efficiency, water efficiency and conservation, material conservation and resource efficiency, and environmental air quality, and it directs that any later amendment published by the California Building Standards Commission is automatically incorporated.
