11(f) of the South Fulton Zoning Ordinance draws a hard line around what a home occupation can be: auto repair or similar operations are named first on the list of uses prohibited outright, with restaurants, keeping of animals, funeral homes, retail or wholesale shops, motel-type establishments, taxi services, and any other occupation found incompatible with the intent of the ordinance rounding out the ban. 11, this is not a scaled restriction, auto repair cannot be run from a residence in South Fulton as a licensed home occupation at any size, whether inside the dwelling or in a detached garage, which subsection (c) already bars from home-occupation use entirely.

A resident wanting to repair vehicles commercially has to locate that use in a zoning district and building that allows automotive repair as a principal or accessory commercial use, subject to the setback and enclosure standards that apply to emissions testing stations and other auto-related accessory uses elsewhere in Section 303. Operating an unlicensed repair business from a house, whether advertised, run for regular customers, or simply generating repeat vehicle traffic and noise associated with repair work, falls outside the home occupation category altogether and is treated as an unpermitted commercial use in a residential district.
