Historic-Cultural Monuments
Hanover County has designated thirteen Historic Preservation Overlay districts, from Scotchtown and Polegreen Church to Sharps and the Beaverdam Motor Company, under Section 26-224. Owners inside these districts, in Hanover County outside the Town of Ashland, need an Architectural Review Board certificate before altering, moving or razing a protected structure.
