Davie, FL Environmental Rules: Flood Elevation Requirements (2026)

Town of Davie Code § 12-545, part of the Floodplain Management Ordinance (Ch. 12, Art. XVI), governs how the floodplain administrator establishes base flood elevations for permitting. Where a site sits in a delineated flood hazard area but FEMA's Flood Insurance Rate Map doesn't supply base flood elevation data, the administrator may require an engineering study or, absent one, default to two feet above the highest adjacent grade, unless evidence shows flood depths could run higher. Buildings and facilities exempt from the Florida Building Code must still meet the flood load and flood-resistant construction requirements of ASCE 24 under § 12-548(A). The Town Engineer serves as floodplain administrator under § 12-543(A).
