The restricted window runs from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., leaving the full daytime and early morning open for routine mowing and trimming.

The section does not distinguish between gas-powered and electric equipment, so both are covered equally during the nighttime hours; it also does not set a decibel limit for lawn equipment specifically. A related section, § 13-119, separately restricts other power tools and equipment, such as chain saws, pavement breakers, log chippers, riding tractors and power hand tools, from operating within a residential sound zone or 500 feet of one during the same 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. window, except that § 13-119 excuses equipment whose sound cannot be heard outside the operator's own residence.
