Corona prohibits parking commercial vehicles over a certain weight or length on residential streets and in residential zones, except for active loading/unloading. Vehicles with commercial signage, large trucks, trailers, and equipment are generally restricted to commercial or industrial zones. Violations may result in citations and tow.
Corona Municipal Code Title 10 restricts the parking of commercial vehicles in residential districts. Generally, vehicles exceeding 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, 22 feet in length, or 80 inches in height (consistent with state thresholds for commercial classification) may not be parked on residential streets or in residential driveways for extended periods. Active loading and unloading is permitted for a limited duration (typically not exceeding what is reasonably necessary). Commercial signage, advertising, and equipment-laden trucks parked in residential areas are common Code Enforcement targets. The city defines commercial vehicles to include semi-trucks, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, tow trucks, and similar equipment. Tradespeople in standard pickup trucks and vans typically are not affected unless the vehicle is oversized. Long-term storage of commercial vehicles must occur on properly zoned commercial or industrial property, or within an enclosed garage. Violations are cited under the municipal code and may also trigger CVC Β§22507 enforcement. Repeat violations can lead to vehicle impound under CVC Β§22651.
Specific penalty amounts for this ordinance are not published in a publicly accessible fine schedule. Contact Corona code enforcement directly for current fines, enforcement procedures, and hearing options.
