Murrieta, CA Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Murrieta's default commercial-vehicle curfew, Section 10.32.160(A), bars any vehicle meeting the state Vehicle Code Section 22507.5 definition of a commercial vehicle from parking on city streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., citywide, except on streets in an industrial land-use zone, and except where a more restrictive posted regulation already applies to that block.

Subsection (B), added by Ordinance 383 in 2007, layers a stricter overnight window, 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., onto fifteen specific residential-area streets and street segments named in the ordinance: stretches of Monroe Avenue, Madison Avenue (two separate segments), Hobie Circle, Pierce Circle, Auto Mall Parkway, Date Street, Raintree Court, Pear Street, Sandlewood Circle, Nick Lane, Golden Gate Circle, Elm Street, Fig Street, and Guava Street. Any commercial vehicle, truck tractor, trailer, or semitrailer bearing a commercial plate found parked on one of those segments during the extended window is in violation even though the citywide 2:00 a.m. cutoff would not yet apply.

The restriction targets big rigs staging or resting near residential neighborhoods rather than every truck: a pickup with a standard bed and a commercial plate is expressly excluded from the definition of “commercial vehicle” under Section 10.08.010, so it is not swept into either curfew.
