Full Breakdown
m. During the rest of the day, the same vehicles may only park on residential streets while actively loading or unloading persons or property at adjacent properties; they cannot simply be stored there. The restriction does not apply in commercial or industrial zones. 370(2) defines the covered vehicles precisely: a 'motor truck' is a vehicle primarily designed or used for carrying loads other than passengers, excluding service vehicles used for maintenance or repair work such as plumbing, electrical or utility trucks; a 'truck trailer' covers balance, pole, semi and self-supporting trailers; and a 'commercial bus' is any vehicle designed or used to carry paying passengers, with taxicabs, limousines and non-compensated private passenger vehicles carved out.
375 separately requires commercial buses to stop only at designated bus stops or the far side of intersections, pulled in close to the curb without blocking a pedestrian lane.
Violations & Fines
Section 6.370(3) sets escalating fines: a first citation carries a fine of not less than $75.00, a second citation within twelve months not less than $150.00, and a third citation within twelve months not less than $250.00, so repeat violators in the same residential block face steadily rising penalties.
