Full Breakdown

The City Traffic Engineer designates loading zones under § 10.36.350 and marks them with yellow curb paint. Under § 10.36.390, yellow-zone restrictions run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all days except Sundays and holidays. Within those hours, drivers can stop only to load or unload, passengers for up to three minutes, or freight and materials for up to twenty minutes under § 10.36.400, before the vehicle must move on. Passenger loading zones use white curb paint under a parallel twenty-minute standard.

Violations & Fines

Stopping, standing or parking in a yellow or white loading zone beyond the posted three- or twenty-minute limit, or outside authorized loading purposes, violates § 10.36.390 and is enforced as a parking infraction under Chapter 10.39.
