Jackson, NJ Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

Township Code § 103-43, part of Article XIII, 'Trucks; Trailers; Semitrailers; Overnight Parking,' flatly bars anyone from causing or permitting a truck, tractor, trailer, semitrailer or omnibus to be parked on any public street, road or highway in the Township of Jackson between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The ban is townshipwide and is not tied to a specific schedule of streets the way the chapter's general daytime parking-hour rules are; it applies on every public roadway in Jackson at those hours. Section 103-44 requires the township to post appropriate and suitable signs stating the overnight prohibition at all entrances into Jackson Township, so drivers coming into town are put on notice before they reach interior streets.

Article XIII carries no penalty clause of its own, so a violation falls back to the chapter's general penalty provision, § 103-4, which applies 'unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, or except as specifically provided in some other section of this chapter.' That default provision, adopted for the whole Vehicles and Traffic chapter, caps punishment at a $50 fine or imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or both, leaving the exact amount to the Municipal Court's discretion within that ceiling.
