Evanston, IL Parking Rules: Preferential Parking Districts (2026)

Evanston Resident Only Parking Districts: The City Manager or his/her designee is authorized to designate, by and with consent of the City Council, certain streets or portions of streets as "Evanston resident only parking districts." The streets to be so designated shall meet the criteria for establishing residents only parking districts as described in Subsection (B) of this Section. The means of identifying vehicles eligible for parking in these districts shall be a valid Evanston vehicle license issued pursuant to Section 10-8-1 of this Title. The streets designated as Evanston resident only parking districts shall be listed in Schedule XXII, Section 10-11-22 of this Title, which shall be created for that purpose.(D)Signs Prohibiting Parking Near Driveways: Upon written application to the City Manager or the City Traffic Engineer and payment of the fee of thirty dollars ($30.00), a sign or signs prohibiting parking within eight feet (8') of driveways will be erected at the address designated in the application.
