Zoning Code § 331-18 sets a hard length line for recreational-vehicle and boat storage. Subsection A bars any boat, camper trailer, motor home, pickup coach or travel trailer 18 feet or more in length from every district in the city, with one exception: in the LI Light Industrial and I Industrial Districts, such vehicles can be stored on no more than 20% of the site. Parking or storing a boat, camper trailer, motor home or travel trailer in violation of § 331-18, including any unit 18 feet or longer parked in a residential district, is a Zoning Code violation under § 331-140. A first offense carries a fine up to $2,500, a repeat offense within three years up to $5,000, with up to 15 days in jail possible and each day the vehicle remains counted as a separate violation.
