Oversized vehicles and unattached trailers (including RVs) may NOT be parked or left standing on residential streets in Oakley except for up to 24 hours in front of the registered owner's address (OMC Chapter 6.1). A police permit allows up to 48 hours for trip loading/unloading. Guest RVs may get up to 7-day permits. RVs may be stored on a legal driveway (cement, brick/pavers, or asphalt) per OMC §4.29.408.
RVs and boats may be parked on a legally established driveway. They are not allowed on unimproved surfaces or on city streets without a temporary permit. Unregistered vehicles can be in public view on private property. The Oakley Residential Design Guidelines include provisions for larger side yard setbacks adjacent to garages to provide room for side-yard RV and boat parking.
