Pittsburg, CA Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Pittsburg Municipal Code Title 18 (Zoning) regulates storage of recreational vehicles, boats, trailers, and oversized vehicles on residential property. RVs, boats, and utility trailers may not be stored in required front yard setbacks. Storage in side or rear yards is permitted when the vehicle is screened from public view by a solid fence at least 6 feet tall or behind the residence. Only one recreational vehicle plus one boat/trailer is typically allowed per residential lot. Stored vehicles must be owned by residents, be in operable condition, currently registered, and cannot be used for living, sleeping, or storage of goods. Connection to utilities for occupancy is prohibited. On public streets, RVs and trailers are subject to the statewide 72-hour parking limit. Pittsburg may designate specific streets as off-limits to oversized vehicles under CVC §22507.5 following posting requirements. Vehicles over 22 feet or over 7 feet in height may have additional restrictions. Temporary guest RV parking is typically allowed for 72 hours with a permit from the city. Commercial vehicles (box trucks, semi-trailers) are prohibited from overnight residential street parking.
