Pasco bans storing RVs, boats, trailers and campers on any public street or right-of-way, except parked in front of the owner's property up to 72 hours per two-week period for loading and unloading. On private residential lots, recreational equipment storage is allowed but limited to side and rear yards in the larger R-S zoning districts.
Pasco Municipal Code (PMC) 10.65.020 prohibits storing or maintaining any boat, motor home, camp trailer, travel trailer, fifth wheel, pickup camper, utility trailer or similar recreational vehicle on any public street or right-of-way. The one exception: such items may be parked in the public right-of-way in front of the owner's property for up to 72 hours in any given two-week period strictly for loading and unloading. Guests of the owner may also temporarily park recreational vehicles in front of the owner's property for 72 hours in a two-week period, but only if the RV cannot fit on the owner's driveway because of its size. On private property, PMC 25.185.140 (Recreational equipment parking) allows boats, motor homes, camp trailers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, pickup campers, utility trailers and snowmobiles to be stored in all yard areas within the R-1, R-2, R-3 and R-4 districts, but only within the side and rear yards in the lower-density R-S-20, R-S-12 and R-S-1 districts. The City directs parking complaints to the AskPasco app or Pasco Police at 509-628-0333, with code questions to a code officer at 509-543-5743.
RVs, boats and trailers left on the street beyond the 72-hour loading window, or stored in a front yard within an R-S district, are code violations. Report to AskPasco or Pasco Police (509-628-0333); code enforcement may issue a notice and the vehicle may be subject to citation or removal.
