Ventura County, CA Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

The Coastal Zoning Ordinance allows accessory parking and storage of oversized vehicles, including boats, trailers, and equipment, on residential, agricultural, or open-space lots in the unincorporated coastal zone if the vehicle is owned and operated by the resident, is operable, and doesn't displace required on-site parking. Government emergency vehicles, vehicles used in agricultural production, and vehicles parked for emergency repairs up to 24 hours are also allowed. Where a discretionary permit covers the parking and the Planning Director finds it degrades the neighborhood's visual character, the vehicle must be screened by a fence, wall, or landscaping.
