Lehi, UT Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Lehi City Code section 7-1-1, adopted by Ordinance 8-10-10.6 in 2010 and amended most recently by Ordinance 52-2025 in August 2025, defines several categories of illegal street parking beyond simple time limits. Subsection B bars parking a vehicle on any street 'for the principal purpose of greasing or repairing such vehicle,' with a carve-out for immediate repairs made necessary by an emergency, so a driver stranded with a flat tire is not in violation but someone doing routine maintenance curbside is. Subsection C prohibits leaving or parking a vehicle 'upon a sidewalk or upon any portion of a street between the curb lines and the sidewalk,' covering the planter strip as well as the sidewalk itself. Subsection D bans parking on any street or roadway 'for the principal purpose of displaying such vehicle for sale or displaying advertising,' the rule that stops residents from lining a shoulder with for-sale cars or rolling billboards.

These sit alongside, but are separate from, the section's forty-eight-hour limit and its snow-removal restriction, each of which the city treats as its own type of illegal parking. Any violation of section 7-1-1, the section provides, exposes the vehicle's registered owner to a fee 'as adopted annually by the city council in the city civil fines schedule,' billed in addition to towing and storage if the vehicle is impounded, and a separate infraction is charged for each day the violation continues.
