Lehi, UT Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

City Code section 7-1-2.A designates 'restricted vehicles' as any vehicle with a gross weight of sixteen thousand (16,000) pounds or more, any semitractor or semitrailer, or any vehicle carrying explosives, corrosives or flammable substances. Those vehicles cannot be loaded, unloaded or serviced on any street in a residential zone if usable off-street loading, unloading or servicing space is available, and outside that narrow loading exception a restricted vehicle 'shall not be parked for any period of time on any street or public right of way within a residential zone in Lehi City.' The ban is stricter for vehicles that normally carry explosive, corrosive or flammable substances: those cannot be parked in a residential zone at all, even briefly and even empty, because the section specifies they 'shall not be parked for any period of time anywhere within a residential zone.'

Section 7-1-2.C carves out several practical exceptions: school and public transportation buses loading or unloading passengers, restricted vehicles delivering household furniture or accessories, city or public-utility vehicles temporarily parked for repairs, and vehicles delivering building supplies or used by contractors working on residential property. Violating the restriction is an infraction punishable by a fine under section 7-1-2.D, and the city may instead impose a civil penalty for a nonmoving violation under its civil fines schedule.
