Conway, AR Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Conway Municipal Code § 5.04.18 requires City of Conway, Arkansas residential customers to call or submit an electronic request to the department of sanitation before a major appliance, piece of furniture, mattress, lawn mower or other bulky item is collected; the request must include the resident's name, address, phone number and a list of items, and it must be confirmed and scheduled before anything goes to the curb. Collection runs first-come, first-served, and only scheduled pickups are made. Once a date is set, items cannot be placed curbside earlier than the day before the scheduled collection, and no later than 7:00 a.m. on collection day itself; everything must sit within five (5) feet of a city street, clear of the roadway, unobstructed by vehicles, mailboxes or tree limbs, and with at least twenty (20) feet of overhead clearance so the collection vehicle's equipment can reach it.

Items must be kept separate from regular sanitation pickup, and prohibited materials such as tires, vehicle batteries, construction debris, loose trash, glass, liquids, hazardous waste and electronic waste are turned away; the department of sanitation reserves the right to deny collection of anything that doesn't qualify, and any resulting Code of Ordinances violation is referred to code enforcement. The service itself is rationed: each residential customer gets two curbside bulky item collections per calendar year, each one limited to three items, and apartment complexes or other multi-family buildings of four units or more are not eligible for the program at all. Major appliance collection under this same section is billed separately on the resident's Conway Corporation utility bill at the rates set in § 5.04.20.
