Conway, AR Trash & Recycling: Collection Schedule (2026)

Conway Municipal Code § 5.04.11(B), part of the Sanitation Department chapter, sets two different collection frequencies in the City of Conway, Arkansas: businesses, houses and other commercial establishments have garbage collected each day except Sunday and holidays, while dwelling houses and homes get once-a-week residential pickup on routes and schedules the Sanitation Department designates. The same subsection makes it the legal duty of anyone with garbage on their premises to place it within five (5) feet of the curb or street so city garbage employees can reach it without entering the yard.

Where the curb or street location genuinely is not possible, for example a long or obstructed driveway, the Sanitation Department can approve an alternate collection spot rather than leaving the resident without service. This placement duty works together with the container rules in § 5.04.08, which require a city-issued cart, and with the waiver in § 5.04.11(C) for residents who are physically unable to move solid waste to the curb themselves. The section does not fix specific weekday route assignments in the code text itself; those are set administratively by the Sanitation Department and communicated to residents by route, which is why the ordinance speaks of 'designated routes and schedules' rather than naming a single citywide collection day.
