Lawton, OK Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Section 22-4-1-410 runs the monthly bulky waste program. One- and two-family residential accounts get one free collection a month, capped at four cubic yards measured at each item's greatest dimension; anything from four up to eight cubic yards is collected for an added fee set in the fee schedule, and loads over eight cubic yards are pulled off the regular route and rescheduled at the City's convenience under the pricier special collection rate. Non-residential and multifamily accounts, plus single- and two-family customers wanting collection outside their regular date, can request the same special collection for its own fee.

Every bulky item has to sit within ten feet of the curb or pavement edge, in the right-of-way but off the pavement itself, and at least five feet from mailboxes, fences, water and gas meters, parked cars, power poles, guy wires, hydrants, and signs so the mechanized truck can reach it; anything under a tree, power line, or other overhead obstacle risks the same special-collection diversion, at the waste crew's on-site discretion. Materials eligible for bulky pickup are listed in the Solid Waste Set Out Guide, and the City assumes no responsibility for lawn or landscaping damage during pickup. Even abandoned shopping carts declared a nuisance are treated as bulky waste and billed a collection fee.
