Miami Beach provides six free scheduled bulk waste pickups per year for residential properties through Waste Connections of Florida. Pickups must be scheduled in advance by calling (786) 515-2726. Bulk waste includes large items such as furniture (sofas, chairs, mattresses), household appliances (ranges, water heaters, refrigerators with doors removed), DIY home remodeling debris (carpeting, drywall, lumber), and large yard waste (tree limbs, bush cuttings). Items must be placed at the curb no more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup. Refrigerators and freezers must have doors removed for safety. Additionally, free bulk trash drop-off is available on the first weekend of every month from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at designated locations. Proof of Miami Beach residency is required for drop-off. Construction debris from contractor work is the contractor's responsibility and not eligible for city pickup.
Placing bulk waste at the curb without scheduling pickup is a code violation. Leaving items curbside for more than 24 hours before pickup results in fines. Illegal dumping of bulk waste carries fines up to $500. Exceeding the six free pickups requires payment for additional service.
