Athens Services provides free curbside bulky-item and e-waste collection to Redondo Beach single-family and multi-family residents. Up to four bulky or electronic items may be set out per pickup, scheduled at least two days before the regular collection day. Construction debris and hazardous materials are excluded and use separate programs.
The City's bulky-item program, operated by Athens Services, lets residents dispose of large items such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, and electronic waste at no extra charge. Residents may set out up to four bulky or electronic items per pickup and must schedule it via an online Bulky Items Pick-Up form or by calling Athens Services at (888) 336-6100 two days before their regular collection day. Items go at the curbside or next to the trash dumpster, and e-waste is collected through the same program. Construction and demolition debris is handled under the City's separate C&D recycling program, and household hazardous waste must go to designated drop-off locations or county HHW events rather than curbside bulky pickup.
Setting out more than four items per pickup, including prohibited construction debris or hazardous materials, or leaving bulky items at the curb without scheduling may result in uncollected items and a Code Enforcement notice for accumulated debris.
