Glendale, AZ Trash & Recycling: Collection Schedule (2026)

Glendale Code of Ordinances § 18-102 sets the baseline: the frequency of contained refuse collection must at minimum follow state and county regulations, but in no case can it be less than once per week for bins ten cubic yards or smaller. if that bin sits within two hundred feet of the property line of residential property. Regular collection is grounded in necessity under § 18-101, which finds that orderly, regular refuse collection prevents the spread of disease, health menaces, fire, and other public safety hazards and nuisances.

Section 18-105(a) fills in the residential side: refuse collection service is provided to residential properties at the frequency prescribed in § 18-102, on the schedule set by the Administrator, and the City services two containers per residential property unless the resident arranges additional container service under § 18-32. Business establishments are served under § 18-105(b) as required by state, county, and city regulations, either directly by the City or, if using a third-party commercial provider, on a schedule that provider sets subject to Administrator approval. This structure sits in Chapter 18, Article III, Division 1, adopted by Ord. No. 2994, § 1(Exh. A), effective June 28, 2016.
